VDS

VICTIMOLOGY SOCIETY OF SERBIA(VDS)

VDS is a non-governmental organisation, which works towards the improvement of the rights of victims of crime, war, and human rights’ violation, regardless of their gender, religion, ethnicity or other features. Its commitment to link theory and practice is visible in all activities, which are organised within two sections: center for research and education and victim support service. One of the key activities is the program on truth and reconciliation, which fosters tolerance, dialog, and mutual recognition and respect in (re)establishing the trust and reconciliation among different social goups in Serbia and the region.

vesna-nikolic-ristanovicProf. dr Vesna Nikolić-Ristanović is a director of the Victimology Society of Serbia and a full professor at the Faculty of Special Education and Rehabilitation, University of Belgrade. Her research work is focused on war victimisation, violence against women, trafficking in people and truth and reconciliation. She is the initiator and coordinator of the Association Joint Action for Truth and Reconciliation in Serbia. Vesna is a coordinator and a senior researcher in the Work Package `Fostering victim-oriented dialogue` in the ALTERNATIVE project. E-mail:[email protected]

 

jelena-srnaProf. dr Jelena Srna is an associate professor at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, and a clinical psychologist/family therapist. She has a key role in the VDS program on truth and reconciliation where she contributed significantly to the development of psychological aspects of dealing with the past. Jelena is a senior researcher in the Work Package `Fostering victim-oriented dialogue` in the ALTERNATIVE project. E-mail: [email protected]

 

sanja-copicDr Sanja Ćopić is a researcher at the Victimology Society of Serbia and research associate in the Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research in Belgrade. Main focus of her recent work has been the use of restorative justice in criminal matters and victim’s position in RJ programs.
